AI Personal Projects
- Nanochat: A fork from Karpathy's Nanochat to test run it on low-cost hardware. An end-to-end GPT2, with all tricks of larger models.
- MyMuMe: Deep Learning to create avatars that sing with your musical identity, using one of Suno's open-source rivals: ACE-Step
- Vox2Trumpet: Two Deep Nets, one of which is a Gated Recurrent Unit (a type of RNN), trained to transform voice or humming into trumpet sounds.
AI & Programming
- Solid theoretical understanding of Deep Learning architectures, including: Convolutional Neural Networks, Recurrent Neural Networks, LSTMs, Bi-directional RNNs, GRUs, Generative Adversarial Networks, Autoencoders, Transformers.
- Related languages, libraries and ecosystems: Python, PyTorch, Hugging Face ecosystem, Weights & Biases.
- After 25+ years of hands-on experience in programming, from research prototypes to production, I have various degrees of proficiency in other programming languages: Node.js, React JS, C/C++, Golang, MATLAB, Mathematica, Solidity.
Academic Experience
- Postdoc in Spatial Audio at Barcelona Media, 2006-2008.
- Postdoc in String Theory and Supergravity at Imperial College London, 2004-2006.
- PhD in Theoretical and High Energy Physics, University of Barcelona, 2000-2004.
- Director of PhD thesis, Audio technologies: applications to sound capture, post-production and listener perception, by Giulio Cengarle, University Pompeu Fabra, 2008-2012.
- Published papers, via Google Scholar.
Interests
- AI and Deep-Learning research, especially when applied to Scientific Reasoning and Audio Processing.
- People. I like people. Not only in leisure but also at work, in challenging environments. I enjoy working with diverse individuals, appreciating the beauty in their unique personalities.
- Physics behind technology: anything, from the physics of sound and image, including 3D Sound, to Deep learning, micro-controllers, and signal processing.
- Programmable Blockchains, like Ethereum.
- Entrepreneurship: figuring out novel uses of the technology I'm exposed to, and the beautiful art of bringing them to reality.
- String Theory, AdS/CFT correspondence, Quantum description of Black Holes, Cosmology and supergravity in general. (what is this??)
